My first business venture was at age 6.  I bought chokos (a bland vegetable that grows vigorously when fed and watered) from Mrs Moriarty next door and sold them in our grocery store in the mid-1960's.  The joy and excitement of that has led me on a six decade journey across dozens of business categories and hundreds of businesses.

There are rules, pathways and models that you can apply in any business.  The right order, the right timing, the right approach all matter.  But mostly greatest success comes from simplicity and an open mind.
